The St. Luke's Daughters of Nightingale 1978 is a weblog for the 1978 graduates of St. Luke's - Trinity College of Nursing in Quezon City, Philippines. It is a forum to post messages, thoughts and photos. It has been 30 years since we said our goodbyes and stepped out of the Cathedral doors, strong in our ideals and ready to take on the poor in health and poor in spirit as Florence Nightingale did more than a century ago. It's been 30 years too long. We have some catching up to do!

I have been busy for several days now, preparing for my daughter's wedding which is coming in a few days, but I COULD NOT RESIST the idea of not saying a few words regarding the DVD THAT YOU HAD CREATED. It was really FANTABULOUS(is this a word?) It is a combination of fantastic and fabulous!!! Our class really made an impact to the rest of the ST. Luke's grads, and for that I am really proud of what we had accomplished.Thanks a million!!
I called Sarah's house the day of the party, I talked to a lot of our classmates and I could hear a lot of loud noises and shouting in the background.They were all very ecstatic and elated as if they escaped from the institutions,LOL... The truth was that, I was jealous that I was not a part of the group, but I am very happy that Julie, Melle and Carmen were there to share the happy memories with the rest of our classmates. Each one shared a part in the success of the reunion, even those of us who could not make it.Class '78 is really awesome and I AM PROUD TO BE A PART OF IT, MAGAGALING...MAGAGANDA AT MALILIGAYA...
Hi Geegee. I am really very proud of the class video you have created. I felt prouder when it was shown during the dinner dance night. Thank you so much for putting your time and talent in it. Now you have made my life much easier because I can view it in our blog, ilagay mo din sa Multiply ok?
You are right Mildred. Parang nakatakas sa institution as you describe it, walang tigil na halakhakan, tawanan at tilian. I think we were all in a state of elation and euphoria. Ang sarap pala yakapin ang mga matagal mo ng nawalang friends and classmates, lalo ngayon na ang tataba na namin. I broke into tears when I saw Amy Jaramillo. I have been trying to reach her kasi and I never got through kaya when I saw her, I felt so overwhelmed, after 27 years nakita ko din siya ulit. I would probably feel jealous too had I not attended. Sa lakas ng mga boses namin, I could hardly understand what you were saying on the phone.
At si Jane Ladiong, hindi ako nakilala, kaya sabi ko na lang sa kanya ako si Grace Chugsayan! We really had a blast. Thanks to Sarah and husband. Very nice couple, kahit niyanig namin ang bahay nila, ok lang. Dumating nga ang police, kasi tumawag si Sarah sa 911. LOL Mali pala dapat 411 ang tatawagan. We thought the neighbors reported us. Ang saya talaga, kahit ang layo ng Sydney at nakakapagod magtravel, it was all worth it. My husband is right, it was an event that shouldn't be missed. Mabuti na lang pinilit niya ako magattend or else I would have missed half of my life! LOL
Sarah and Fern, thank you so much for having us. Pasencia na kayo, umalis na lang kami we did not bother help you guys clean up. We really had fun at your place, thanks for the warmth and hospitality you have extended to all of us! May God bless your family always!
Next reunion, mag aattend ako ulit. Walang makakapigil sa akin. Kahit sa Antarctica pa ako nakatira. I am hoping I can take Gary and my kids along, but if they can't make it, hehe, I will still go.
Teta, Leo and April. Thank you so much for adopting me in Fremont. I think this reunion is more memorable than the one we had in 1982. The 4 days you, Cecile and I spent together just enjoying the drive to Lake Tahoe, Reno and Yosemite was so amazing. Ang galing talaga ng tripod mo Teta kahit matanda pa siya kay April. Cecile thank you for having the courage to drive up to Highway 49. You are the best driver in California! Balik tayo doon sa 2010.
Julie and Carmen, siguro naman we can organize our own mini reunion in Manila. We will invite Gina Garcia and Faith Preciado to join us.
Thank you Mildred for your time and effort in making sure that the international delegates were well taken cared of. You are not only a good mom but also a good leader because you were always looking after the welfare of your members.
Ninang Oddie and Ninong Caloy, Mother Superior Telly and Reverend Father Abet, and all my (hospicio roomates) Teta, Cecile and Chato Francisco sent me off at the SFO Int'l Airport. Talagang siniguro nila na hindi ako nag TNT! I know they are tired and need rest too as we were all heading home the next day but they were at the airport till past 11 pm.

The trip was all worth it! Sulit na sulit talaga. Nakita ko lang si Teta was sulit na, lalo na sulit when I saw 25 others!
Sorry na lang sa mga hindi nag attend, you missed a lot of fun! But we all get another chance in 2010 so this time let's all try to encourage everyone to be there!
A first-rate class such as Class 1978 deserves to be presented in the best possible way. Do you guys recall that we were the SWAT team? I just had that lightbulb moment and remembered that we called ourselves S.W.A.T. 78 during the Ati-Atihan at St. Luke's. Remember that?..help me out here, anyone? No one pushes us around. Sorry, Melle, should I have made you a PAL/SECAM version of the DVD? Don't know what system you have there.
Parang naaalala ko nga yung SWAT pero acronym for Samahan ng mg Walang Alam sa Test. LOL
Yes, initially that was what it meant...Samahan ng walang alam sa test, however since someone said another school owned that name already, we changed the meaning to Special Women At Trinity.....
Uhmmmm where was I when this was happening?. How come i do not remember this? Oh Melle wag mong gawing halaman ang asawa ni Sara, his real name is Federico, Fed for short. It took me two days to realize that..I kept on calling him Ted before I was discretely corrected. Yes they are a special couple. :-)

Si Sarah naman hindi sumasagot. OK na siguro sa kanya kahit nabinyagan ng ibang name ang husband niya.
Also sana yung anak ni Carmen sinabihan niyo na turuan ang Mommy niya mag blog.

Melle, I was calling him Fred, mali rin pala ako; anyway, palitan na lang natin ng Brad as in Brad Pitt? what do you think?

Oddie, baka di na tayo entertainin ulit ni Brad. Pero palitan na rin natin ng Angelina ang name ni Sarah para match!
